Pricy, Parking Difficult, Chatty Gossip

I can say the one thing I saw that I did like was the haircuts I saw a young woman named Laura giving. Personally I think she should find a better place to work - with her talent, she can get a job anyplace. Unfortunately I did not have her do my hair.

But at the waiting time for an apt. to just get in and after reading other reviews and trying the place I would choose another salon personally. What works for some doesnt work for others. Sometimes we need to tell the truth about why we DON"T return to a salon instead of walking out and just being quiet. Its easy to say I love a salon but hard to say why you won't go back. How many people dont like whats done and pay and never go back? At least tell the salon why you dont go back if you can.

Excellent color:]

I have been a client of Kristina for years now, and she's amazing. She has definitely mastered the art coloring and is awesome with cutting too. I tend to change my mind a lot, and from classic coloring and cut to something a little more funky, she has it down. I always love my hair when I walk out their door. She is very reasonable with her pricing as well which is an added bonus! I just want to sing her praises, from a loyal client offering advice to new people looking for an amazing stylist! :]

Amazing Haircut and Customer Service!

I went to this salon based on the excellent reviews on this site. I had a little trouble finding parking, but showed up early enough where it wasn't a problem for me. I saw Dathan, who was very warm and friendly. He gives an amazing scalp massage while shampooing your hair! He took his time with my cut, focusing on getting it perfect. I didn't feel rushed at all, and he did an amazing job. I will definitely be going back in 6 weeks!

Best Haircut In A Long Time

I would like to say "Thank you Dathan Hunter Salon!" I saw Laura today for a cut and she totally restored my faith in the skill and quality of haircuts in Southern Maine. She was friendly and really listed to what I wanted. I was a bit skeptic when I walked in because of past experiences but it was a very pleasant experience. I can't wait to try on my new hair color to match my great cut! I can?t wait to tell all of my friends. Thank you.

Amazing Talent in All Areas...

I first got in with Dathan since he was recommended to me. I have to say I loved my hair and he was willing to take the process slowly while I decided what I wanted. That made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Then later on I went to see Jules, she specializes in extentions, which I talked to her about. Then she put in the hair very nicely with a super cute cut too. I love them!! It was odd to see my hair so long at first but after a week or so it felt as if I always had them! When I went to get my hair colored again I had a limited schedule to try to be fit in with Dathan. So, I tried Kristina a sytlist who has many years of experience and just started working at the salon again. I have to admit I'm HOOKED!!! She is very comfortable with different techniques, very friendly, and professional. I don't think I've ever come to a salon that has such talent in all areas with all stylist I've been to! I had to share in spreading the news.

Hollywood ROCKS!!

Holly does my hair and it has never looked this good. I have been to several other "high-end" salons in Portland, but I have never experienced the consistently fantastic results I get every time I go there. I am overwhelmed with compliments on my hair, especially the color and have referred more than a few people to go there.

Highly Recommended

I decided it was time for a change from the hair color I had all my life to something cute and fun. The owner, Dathan, did my color and cut and was very good about talking to me thoroughlyabout what I wanted for my new color. While he was doing my hair he was professional while engaging me in fun, relaxed conversation. I was very impressed with his knowledge on cutting curly hair and actualy giving it a little shape! The end result was beautiful, I love my new color. I really enjoyed my expierence at thissalon. I reccomend it to someone looking for a high quality, up-scale location with great customer service and an enviroment which makes you feel welcomed and comfortable.

This salon was a great find! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the stylists were all very friendly. I'll definitly go back again. My hair cut was just what I had wanted and I have received more compliments on my hair than any other hair cut I've had in the past. I highly recommend it!

I can not say enough good things about Dathan and his stylists. I first went to Dathan Hunter to get my hair extensions about 2 months ago, and Jules did a phenomenal job! It's hard to explain exactly what you're looking for in a hair style, but she got it! I have since been back to have my hair colored and cut, and after going to many local salons I can honestly say that this is the BEST job anyone has ever done. I left feeling beautiful AND satisfied! And that's what it is about, right? The wait time to get in is a bit long but the receptionist is wonderful and was able to get me right in when another client had canceled. Highly recommended!

Wonderful!

I went to Dathan Hunter for the first time about a month ago to get my hair extentions with Jules, who was wonderful. I get compliments on my hair where ever I go! Since than I have been back twice, once to see Laura who did a wonderful job with my highlights, and again to see Holly who gave me the best hair cut I've ever had. I had a wonderful experience at Dathan Hunter, and everyone made me feel so comfortable. I will never go to another salon. I would recomend this salon to anyone.
