Fine Dining, Leisurely Pace....
Dinner at the Grill Room and Bar was an overall great experience, the menu reaching out to us the moment we arrived. Unfortunately for my date they were not serving Swordfish as the quality available was not up to par, our server explained, so he opted for the seared tuna cooked rare. I chose the Rainbow trout, and to start we had olives and escargot.
I found the escargot flavor to be delicious while my date (who knows his snails!) thought it a bit too chewy, and less on the tender side. As for our main meals my fish came with sauteed spinach and lobster mashed potatoes in a buerre blanc sauce - and it was the perfect pairings and portions. I have never tasted lobster mashed potatoes before and the pieces of lobster were noticeable and flavorful.
The tuna was a bit of a disappointment - although delicious, the tuna was not served hot enough as it should be for a rare sear. It was purported to come with an arugula salad - that ended up being just a mere "garnish" and the smashed potatoes? True to form, they looked like someone had smashed them with a fork.
We finished with the strawberry sorbet which was refreshing and full of flavor. Overall the experience was good and I would return, I just would be a bit more specific or ask more questions about the meals before ordering.
