The food here is pretty basic but the environment is why you go! Expect long lines and crowded tables on nice days. Be careful when ordering a non-seafood dish as they are not that good. I'm not a seafood person so I never actually enjoy what I get but I know I'll be taking people here all the time because of good lobster and spectacular views.

This place serves pretty basic Maine fare- lobster or crab rolls, whole lobster, along with burgers and hot dogs. What makes this place is location- it's right on the water- a spectacular view of the rocky Maine coast. The food is pricey, but the view makes it worth it.

Make no mistake, the lobster roll here is still good but it does not compare to far more superior rolls you can find further north. That said, the real star of the menu here are the deep fried whole belly clams. The clam chowder is a thin brothed styled soup, not the thick and creamy type more commonly found along the coast, which can be either a good or bad thing depending on your particular taste. For the non seafooders, the shack offers excellent burgers and other non seafood fare that are generally pretty good. But most everyone who makes this trek opts for the lobster roll.
