I drive to Maine just for this.....
You may drive by and see a line - and I know in the summertime its hot, people are impatient... but there is a reason there is a line and that is because the food is amazing, and honestly worth the wait. Bring a book - consider it an extension of your vacation - or try it on an off hour.
Breakfast anytime is their slogan, but you must try their infamous Seafood Chowder. Their corn bread is delicious!! I also love their Lobster Casserole - its easy and all the work is done for you, and absolutely amazing. And try to save room for a slice of pie.

the MAine Diner.
Don't believe the hype!! We have eaten here several times over the last several years and it gets worse each time. The food has always been sub par but the last 3 times our food was overcooked, cold, or just plain disgusting. The servers are inattentive. I dropped my fork and the waitress looked right at it and walked away. Hello, customer service? I actually had to get up and ask someone for another, and she acted like it was the most inconvenient thing she had to do! Not only are you packed in like sardines, literally sitting on top of the people next to you, but having another waitresses' rear end in my face while she chatted with the table next to us as we tried to eat our dinner was the worst. This place is completely classless, the Phantom Gourmet is a buffoon, and if this is the food their grandma used to make, I'm glad I didn't grow up in that family. I'd rather eat dirt!!
