Freshest Maine Seafood. I went to Cook's Lobster House because I was missing what I had experienced in the past. Growing up in Maine, I was looking for great fresh seafood on the ocean. I found it at Cook's. My wife had the lobster roll $16.95. Fresh and delicious served with the best coleslaw ever. My daughter had a lobster which was on special for $18.95. It was cooked to perfection. I had the Haddock sandwich. It should be called "whale in a bun. Huge and fresh with fresh cut french fries $9.95. The view and service were A plus in my experience. A GREAT PLACE!
Overpriced & Overcooked. The prices were extremely high. The food was terrible, way over cooked and over battered. We got right in and enjoyed the look of the dining room and thought we were going to have a nice experience. We waited about 30 minutes for our meals to come out. They could've cooked everything at least 10 minutes less and it would not have been over done. Chicken fingers were so overcooked they were like jerky. How do you mess up chicken fingers? Definitely a tourist trap where unsuspecting folks would walk in, have one meal and most likely be disappointed and never go back. We ate at Anthony's Pier 4 in Boston the week before. That was worth the high prices we paid b/c we got great food and incredible service. This place wanted over $32 for a single lobster dinner, that would have been overcooked anyways. If you want Maine lobster, shop around and read what real people are saying. Buyer beware. I would never recommend this restaurant or go back.
They have gone downhill.. I have eaten here in the past (10 years ago) when it was good. However, the meal we had there last Thursday was bad. Drinks really good - food and waitress bad. Scallops were rubbery. Flies in the dining room. Inattentive waitstaff. I was very disappointed and will not be going back.
Outrageous prices, too!. I forgot to mention that the prices were INSANELY high. If the food were excellent it may have been worth the prices but it wasn't even close. Tourist trap to be avoided. Don't believe the hype.
Seafood at it's best. If you want to experience the " Real Maine " Cook's Lobster House is a must. Excellent views, great fresh food and service. The perfect place for that special day.
Best Seafood Restaurant In Maine. The ride to Cook's is awesome! Rt. 24 is worth the ride down to Bailey''s Island. You cross over the worlds only Cribstone Bridge and Cooks is on the right. Surrounded by water on 3 sides. Great views from every seat. Inside or outside seating. Cook's has their own fishermen bring in fresh seafood to their docks. Tour boat rides and charter sailing or fishing. Cooks has lobster bakes, fireworks on the 3rd of july and a sports fishing tournament. Great beach for collecting sea glass and the views are the best. We sat on the deck and I had the fish sandwich. My wife had the lobster roll and our child had the kid shore dinner, which had a lobster, steamed clams and french fries. The food and service were great and the price was right. We love Cooks
View.
Cooks has a great view, and okay food. You need to watch out of prices, they are overpriced!
