Kristina has STYLE. I have had the pleasure of having my hair cut and colored by Kristina many times.

She took me from an outdated, shorter style to a longer, updated, and yes, SEXY style! I had been unsuccessful at growing my hair out for years, until Kristina. That transition had been difficult for me because my hair is thick, wavy and generally unruly.

Kristina is talented, professional, patient, kind, and accomodating. Her goal is for her client to leave happy and feeling great about themselves!

Just not worth it. First I shopped around read all the reviews then picked this salon. I had not gotten my hair cut in a year and it was well over due. Kristina was pleasant enough but her cut was horrible, noticeably chopped and not at all blended. When I pointed this out to her three times she tells me its my highlights that are causing this and there was nothing she could really do...huh? So I wondered why everyone in the salon who had highlights did not have a chopped up head of hair. When I left thank god I was able to find a friend of a friend to fix what supposedly was unfix-able and now YES my hair is blended well. Just mad that I actually paid them...I really should have just walked out.

Marie is awesome!. I've never written a review on here, but after my 2nd visit with Marie at Dathan Hunter, I just had to.

I've been on the search for a great stylist since I moved to the east coast in 2005. I've tried about 1/2 the salons in Boston and a couple here in Portland --- finally, I've found a stylist that gets it.

Marie is super fun, does great color and is a pro with the scissors. She actually listens too!

This is the first time in 5+ years that I've actually booked follow up appointments in advance --- and it's because she's that great.

Beautiful Salon. Great salon, I saw marie for my cut and color and she did a amazing job. The color is so edgy and modern I am in total love. The cut it exactly what I wanted and no one else I have gone to has ever been able to do this for me, She is so friendly and professional and really knows what she is talking about, Cannot wait to go back!

5 Star Perfection. Just had my first haircut meticulously cut by Dathan. I have tough hair: Straight, fine, thick and a white blonde where, if not cut correctly, you notice every mistake. Also, I wear it in a Sassoon style asymetrical but feminine and with sharp angles. Dathan cut it to perfection and with precision. Anyone, in my opinion can cut long hair; it's the short, precision styles which only a stylist with a 'good eye' for the individual's facial structure, hair texture and life style can accomplish. I am very active and need a style which I blow out and scrunch with my fingers - this all was accomplished, plus Dathan is exceedingly interesting to talk with and will listen to your suggestions but also do what he feels is best. The staff is very friendly, customer oriented and knowledgable about the hair products they sell. FINALLY, I have found a stylist who presented me with the slightly edgy, yet feminine look for my face and lifestyle. The hair cut also look well when wearing a ball cap! Thanks, Dathan.

Great Hair Salon. Needed a fresh haircut. And really didn't know what to do for my haircut . I let Dathan come up with an idea. My girlfriend loved it, thats a plus. I also enjoyed the vibe there had a fun staff and would feel comfortable going to anyone.

salon. I moved to Maine 9 months ago and have had a hard time finding a salon. This salon is the first to understand my hair. My curls can be difficult to cut, and my color needed to be fixed. They really did a good job and really took their time with me. Thank goodness.

Excellent color:]. I have been a client of Kristina for years now, and she's amazing. She has definitely mastered the art coloring and is awesome with cutting too. I tend to change my mind a lot, and from classic coloring and cut to something a little more funky, she has it down. I always love my hair when I walk out their door. She is very reasonable with her pricing as well which is an added bonus! I just want to sing her praises, from a loyal client offering advice to new people looking for an amazing stylist! :]

Amazing Haircut and Customer Service!. I went to this salon based on the excellent reviews on this site. I had a little trouble finding parking, but showed up early enough where it wasn't a problem for me. I saw Dathan, who was very warm and friendly. He gives an amazing scalp massage while shampooing your hair! He took his time with my cut, focusing on getting it perfect. I didn't feel rushed at all, and he did an amazing job. I will definitely be going back in 6 weeks!

Best Haircut In A Long Time. I would like to say "Thank you Dathan Hunter Salon!" I saw Laura today for a cut and she totally restored my faith in the skill and quality of haircuts in Southern Maine. She was friendly and really listed to what I wanted. I was a bit skeptic when I walked in because of past experiences but it was a very pleasant experience. I can't wait to try on my new hair color to match my great cut! I can?t wait to tell all of my friends. Thank you.
